Sally Allen, award-winning author of Unlocking Worlds: A Reading Companion for Book Lovers (Griffin's Wharf, 2015), will be featured in the Wellness Education Series on Friday, Sept. 21, noon to 1 p.m. at the Ridgefield Recreation Center, 195 Danbury Road. In Allen’s presentation, The Health Benefits of Reading”she’ll address a variety of ways reading can positively affect your well-being. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A, book signing and door prize drawing for a literary gift basket. Sally Allen has always loved books, almost to a fault. At the age of eight, she was nearly sent home from a friend’s birthday party for reading during the festivities.
