Storm cleanup continues in Ridgefield, Eversource reports 1,150 customers without power (UPDATE)
Editor's note: This story has been updated to reflect changes in the drivability of several Ridgefield roads.
First responders from Ridgefield's fire, police, and highway departments continue to pick up debris from last night's storm.
The Press has reported downed trees, wires or branches on the following roads Monday morning:
- Great Hill Road
- Seth Low Mountain Road (closed as of 4:50 p.m. Monday)
- Buck Hill Road
- High Ridge Avenue (open as of 4:50 p.m. Monday)
- Lounsbury Road
- Haviland Road
- Sherwood Road
- Creamery Road (open as of 4:50 p.m. Monday)
- Florida Hill Road
- North Street
- Laurel Hill Road
- Bobby's Court
- Donnelly Drive
- Fulling Mill Lane
- Saw Mill Hill Road
- Old Branchville Road (closed as of 4:50 p.m. Monday)
- Barlow Mountain Road (re-opened)
- Oscaleta Road
- Ledges Road (re-opened)
- Tackora Trail
- Barrack Hill Road (without power)
- Saunders Lane (closed as of 4:50 p.m. Monday)
- Shadow Lane
"Saunders Lane has had wires across it all day (power has been out since 11 p.m. Sunday)," said Tom Gerhard.
"This is a dead end street, and the only access is by driving over the wires. RPD was notified this morning and put cones out, but no signs of Eversource."
And Eversource crews might not be coming for a while.
"The Eversource website for reporting outages seems to be malfunctioning as we have reported this several times online and by phone with a representative yet It is still showing that they are unaware of an outage in our area when we try to check the status of the outage," said Linda Johnston of Laurel Hill Road.
