Scotts Ridge Middle School presents Beauty and the Beast March 9-10

Scotts Ridge Middle School presents the musical Beauty and the Beast with performances Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10, at 7 p.m.

The musical tells the story of the brainy and beautiful Belle who yearns to escape her provincial life, however, Belle finds more adventure than she expected when she becomes a captive in the beast’s enchanted castle. Dancing flatware, menacing wolves and singing furniture fill the stage with thrills in this beloved fairy tale.

The middle school cast and crew contains approximately 100 students led by Dr. Merryll Polak and Mrs. Jennifer Bray.

Mrs. Bray says, “I am so proud of all students’ hard work and dedication. Every year I am amazed at all they accomplish in such a short time. It is sure to be a magical show!"

The students involved have spent the past eight weeks learning lines, rehearsing choreography, singing, designing props, building sets, and creating make-up and costumes. Mrs. Christie Judge has been assisting crew with scenery and SRMS alumni Madison Cone and Avery Buckanavage are helping with choreography.

Tickets are $7 each and available during SRMS lunch period or at the door. Scotts Ridge shows often sell out, so please encourage students to purchase tickets at lunch.
