Registration for the 13th running of the Ridgefield based Run Like A Mother will open on Jan. 1, 2019.

Happening every year on Mother’s Day, this  race takes place on May 12, 2019, and includes a women-only 5K, a kids one-mile race, and post race party for the entire family. Run Like a Mother runs through Ridgefield with family members cheering their athletes on as the final mile heads down Main Street before turning into Ballard Park for a post-run celebration.

5K finishers will receive a commemorative medal and technical tee shirt. Proceeds from the race benefit the Noreen L Papa "Mothers:Live Your Life" Fund at the Ridgefield Library. Noreen Papa was an integral part of Run Like a Mother for many years, who passed away in 2013 from cancer. Programming focuses on health and wellness for the community.

“We are excited to open up registration on January 1st for the 13th running of this special race. We want to encourage women of all ages to do something special for themselves on Mother’s Day, and bring along a their mom, sister, daughter or friends to enjoy the special day,” said Megan Searfoss, founder of Run Like a Mother and owner of Ridgefield Running Company and Everywear of Main.

Participants can go to www.ridgefieldrunning.com/events to register starting at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 1 to get the lowest price on registration.
