Ridgefield student news: Syracuse, Boston College, and Colgate
Caroline H. Nethercott of Ridgefield has been awarded the Himan Fellowship Scholarship by Syracuse University to participate in the London Study Abroad program for the spring 2018 semester. Nethercott is a member of the Class of 2019 and is majoring in social work with a minor in education. She also made the dean’s list for the spring semester.
The following Ridgefield students were named to Northeastern University’s dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester: John Buczek, majoring in mechanical engineering; Peter Christensen, majoring in mechanical engineering; Clint Corso, majoring in criminal justice; Sloan Coughlin, majoring in behavioral neuroscience; Karen Lang, major undeclared; Skylar Morley, majoring in business administration; Maud Rodamar, majoring in business administration; Francis Thomas, majoring in business administration; and Claire Ward, majoring in nursing.
Three students from Ridgefield have been named to the dean’s list at Connecticut College for the 2017 fall semester: Cameron W. Heap, Class of 2019, high honors, mathematics; John L. Norena, Class of 2018, honors, behavioral neuroscience; and Jared M. Nussbaum, Class of 2021, high honors, undeclared.
Karen Serrao Cabrera of Ridgefield has been named to the Goodwin College dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester.
Two Ridgefield students graduated from Western Governors University on Feb. 10: Chikezie Duke received his master of business administration degree in management and strategy and Stacey Farnham received her bachelor of science degree in business/human resource management.
Two Ridgefield students, both Class of 2018, have earned the dean’s award with distinction for the fall 2017 semester at Colgate University: Megan Johnson, a psychology major, and Alexander Fish, a political science major.
Cara McHale Mackenzie of Ridgefield was named to the 2017 fall semester dean’s list at Simmons College.
Lucy Briody of Ridgefield, a member of the Colgate University Class of 2021, has earned the dean’s award for academic excellence. Briody’s current major is environmental studies.
Megan Conway of Ridgefield, Class of 2019, participated in the American Advertising Federation (AAF) at Eastern Connecticut State University during the fall 2017 semester. Conway’s major is communication.
Kelly Shannon, a theater major from Ridgefield, collaborated with faculty on a variety of research projects last summer as part of Muhlenberg College’s research community.
Grace Marra of Ridgefield, Class of 2019, was named to Boston College’s dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester. Marra is majoring in environmental studies with a concentration in political science and a minor in economics.
Katherine Groves of Ridgefield was named to the honor roll at the University of Dallas for the fall 2017 semester. Groves is majoring in pastoral ministry.
Two Ridgefield students, Olivia Doman and John D. Stamatis were awarded faculty honors for the fall 2017 semester at Trinity College.
Zachary Black of Ridgefield was among the University of Scranton students inducted into Eta Kappa Nu, the student honor society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
The following Ridgefield students have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at Washington University in St. Louis: Matan Alon is enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences, Gwen Byrne and Brandon Cowen are enrolled in the Olin Business School, and Casey MacDonald is enrolled in the School of Engineering & Applied Science.
Marcus von Recklinghausen of Ridgefield, Class of 2020, was named to the winter 2017-18 honors list at Pomfret School.
