https:\/\/youtu.be\/Rk3szn5ukEQ JeanAnn Paddyfote has been appointed the interim superintendent of Ridgefield schools. She takes over effectively on July 1 for acting superintendent Dr. Robert Miller. Miller, the district's technology director, took over the position from former superintendent Karen Baldwin in early April. Paddyfote retired a few years ago after a long career with New Milford Public Schools, where she served as Superintendent of Schools for 13 years. She served as acting superintendent of Avon Public Schools from August 2017 through March 2018. "She has a breadth of experience that the board felt would be useful to Ridgefield Public Schools over the next couple of months," said\u00a0Fran Walton, chairwoman of Ridgefield's Board of Education. "When I went to speak out to her references, they all said we were so fortunate to have the chance to interview her," Walton said. "As one person who worked with her said, 'She is a real professional and 100% dedicated to her craft and can be a real asset.'" Walton told the room at Monday night's meeting that the board is reviewing proposal from search firms to find a permanent superintendent. "Initial planning will occur over the summer," she wrote in a memo to the board. "Community outreach and focus groups will be planned for early September to invite community input in the new superintendent selection. "The BOE intends to have a permanent superintendent for our schools during the first half of 2019." Read more about the new hire in Thursday's Ridgefield Press.
