Ridgefield roads near empty during Thursday's snowfall (SLIDESHOW)

Thursday's snowfall could end bringing as much as a foot of fresh powder to Ridgefield's streets.

That and heavy winds — expected to reach as high as 55 miles per hour in some parts of the state — are keeping those streets pretty near empty.

The Press scoped the village around 11 a.m. Thursday and saw only about a dozen or so drivers around town.

Most offices and buildings are closed. A few businesses are opening, including the Prospector Theater and Dimitris on Prospect Street.
