Ridgefield residents to host moment of silence for Sandy Hook victims Friday (UPDATE)
Ridgefield residents will host a moment of silence and remembrance for lives lost to gun violence at the Lounsbury House from 9:15 to 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14.
First Selectman Rudy Marconi and Jeremy Stein, executive director of CT Against Gun Violence, will speak during the ceremony.
Resident Amanda Cordano is organizing the event.
Friday marks the sixth anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting, and the focus of the vigil will be on gun violence.
"Come together to remember over 600,000 Americans killed or injured by guns since the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy," a flier for nationwide vigils reads.
The schedule of events in Ridgefield is as follows:
- 9:15 a.m. - Gathering, singing
- 9:30 - Speaker
- 9:40 - Bells Ring for one minute
- 9:41 a.m. - Moment of Silence
- 9:42 a.m. - Singing
The event is scheduled to end around 10 a.m.
