Ridgefield resident to host monster truck event in Oxford Saturday

Thomas Beck, a Ridgefield resident and the promoter behind the "Monster Truck Park" proposed in Oxford, has announced a "Touch a Monster Truck" day to be held on Saturday, March 31.

"We are offering the opportunity to get up close, ask all the questions...and even get up in the driver's seat of a real, full size, professional Monster Truck". The truck is the same truck Mr. Beck is planning to use at a facility he has proposed in Oxford where he will be offering anyone over the age of 25 to "Get behind the wheel and drive" his truck on a private "Road Course". For more information on this unique experience please go to Mr. Beck's website "drivebluebuzzard.com.

Attendees at the Touch a Monster Truck event will be assisted in getting into the truck and a raised platform will be provided so friends and relatives can take photos of whom ever is in the driver's seat.

To get up in the driver's seat for a photo, a donation of up to $5 is suggested, and 100% of donations will go to the Oxford Library.

The event will be held at 351 Christian St. in Oxford from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and there is no "rain out" date planned.
