Ridgefield resident’s mom turns 100 next week
Julia O’Shea will be turning 100 years young on Jan. 14, 2019. She was born in New York City on Jan. 14, 1919, and was one of eight children.
O’Shea currently resides at The Village at Brookfield Commons. She has also lived in the Bronx, Peekskill and Mahopac.
Julia married Daniel O’Shea on July 19, 1941, in Monterey, Calif., before he was shipped overseas during World War II. In 2016, they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. Daniel passed away in May 2017 at the age of 99. Julia and Daniel had four children, Danny, Denise, David and Deborah. Danny (passed away Jan. 2, 1998) and his wife are from Peekskill, N.Y. Denise (O’Shea) Ryff and her husband Gerald reside in Carmel, N.Y. David O’Shea and his wife Karen live in Ridgefield. Deborah (O’Shea) DePinho and her husband Joseph live in Mahopac, N.Y.
Julia has 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her children are planning a party to celebrate Julia’s 100 years.
