Ridgefield police say goodbye to long-time dispatcher

The Ridgefield Police Department announced the retirement of dispatcher Isabel “Issy” Caporale Monday, Aug. 27.

Caporale, who has served the department for 11 years, is a lifelong Ridgefielder and a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.

"Issy is active in the community and in her spare time referees lacrosse, field hockey and basketball from youth-college level," the department wrote on its Facebook page.

Prior to dispatching, Caporale served the Coast Guard for 25 years earning the rank of Chief E7.

The police said that she's beginning a new career in private security for St. Mary's School.

"Thank you for your service to the town and always helping to keep us safe," the department wrote. "Good luck Issy!"
