Ridgefield man dies in Long Island plane crash

Ridgefield resident Richard Terbrusch has been identified as one of three victims involved in a fatal plane crash that happened three miles from Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach, N.Y. Saturday, Oct. 13.

The plane's pilot was Waterbury resident Munidat “Raj” Persaud, authorities said. Persaud, 41, was also the plane's owner.

The plane, a piper twin turbo prop airplane, had stopped at Danbury Municipal Airport before flying towards Long Island where it crashed in the water.

The plane's other passenger has been identified as Jennifer Landrum, 45, of Augusta, Ga.

Terbrusch, 53, had a law firm — The Terbrusch Law Firm, LLC — in Danbury.

According to a profile on his law firm's website, Terbrusch was an active member in the Ridgefield community. Terbrusch served as chairman of the town's Police Commission and was a former member of the Board of Education.
