The Ridgefield Thrift Shop is now accepting applications for 2019 grants. The application process is open to local non-profit organizations that benefit the residents of Ridgefield and its surrounding communities.

The Thrift Shop is an all-volunteer organization, which donates its profits back to the community each year. In 2018, the Thrift Shop gave grants to 54 local non-profit organizations for a total of more than $250,000. The recipients included groups supporting arts and culture, health, seniors, youth, environment and community outreach programs.

“As we enter the grant application process again this year, we are hoping that we will receive record-breaking applications from local groups,” says treasurer Carol Gardell. “We are so grateful to the support – the generous donations and the loyal customers – that we receive from the community throughout the year, and are eager to show our appreciation by giving to these deserving local organizations.”

For more information on the grant process or to download an application, visit ridgefieldthriftshop.com. Applications can also be picked up at the thrift shop, located at 21 Governor Street in Ridgefield. Grant applications must be submitted by February 15. All applicants will be notified by March 15 if they are to receive an award. If you have any questions about the 2019 grant application process, email grants.rts@gmail.com.
