Thrift shop President Mary Ellen Loncto presented a check for $30,000 to RVNA President Theresa Santoro, flanked by thrift shop volunteers and members of the RVNA, at the RVNA’s Spelling Bee on March 19.

Funds will help RVNA provide care to uninsured and underinsured patients, and sustain the many programs RVNA brings to the Ridgefield community, including well child clinics, flu and pneumonia clinics, chronic disease management, nutrition education and weight management, caregiver support, CPR training and RVNA’s annual Community Health Fair.

RVNA and the Thrift Shop have a history of collaborative support dating back to 1937, when the idea of creating a local thrift shop to provide funding to the District Nursing Association, or DNA (now known as RVNA), was conceived.
