Police arrest Danbury men for pot, THC oil possession
Two Danbury men were arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to sell after a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 7 and Florida Hill Road at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13.
Ridgefield police said Juan Paulino, 22, was also charged with carrying a weapon in a vehicle, while Dennis Armando Aviles-Blas, 21, was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
The car’s third occupant, a 20-year-old man also from Danbury, was issued a ticket for possession of marijuana less than a half-ounce.
Maj. Steve Brown said police officers pulled over the car for suspected “illegal activity.” A report said the vehicle was searched and officers uncovered 60 grams of marijuana and nine THC oil capsules — a concentrated marijuana resin typically used in a vaporizer.
Police also found bags used for packaging marijuana, a scale, and a knife. Officers also found $2,213 in cash in the car.
Paulino and Aviles-Blas were released after each posted $1,000 bond.
They are both due to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Nov. 29.
