Local historian Charles Pankenier will explain the story of Ridgefield's landmark fountain in a seminar at Founders Hall on Friday, April 20, 1 pm, sponsored by Union Savings Bank Foundation. The author of a book on renowned architect Cass Gilbert, Pankenier will explain the motivation behind Gilbert’s gift to the town, why it may not have been initially welcomed, and how it has managed to survive at its busy intersection.

This seminar is free and open to the public. Founders Hall, a donor-supported education and recreation center for people age 60 and older, is located at 193 Danbury Road. For more information, go to www.founders-hall.org.
