Anita and Nicholas Donofrio of Ridgefield announced the marriage of their daughter Nicole to Terry Meade of Newark, Del., son of the late Elma and James Meade of Kentucky. The couple wed on June 10, 2017, at Glenmere Mansion in Chester, N.Y.  

Michael Donofrio, brother of the bride, officiated at the ceremony.

The bride wore an off-the-shoulder trellised French lace gown over a fluted champagne under dress with a hand-cut scalloped train by Anna Maier.

She was attended by her niece, Edie Donofrio, as her maid of honor, and bridesmaids Kelly McCracken, sister-in-law of the bride, along with Alyson Gardner (Cohen), Lisa Gordon and Christine Distefano (Mabe), all Ridgefield High School friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Katja Pils, the bride’s stepdaughter, and Lena Donofrio, the bride’s niece.

The groom’s attendants were his son Maximilian Pils as best man, and Carla Hass, Kerry Meade (brother of the groom), Scott Ruble, and Colin Greeman as ushers. Jack Meade (nephew of the groom) was ring bearer.  

Donofrio, a 1991 Ridgefield High School graduate, earned a bachelor of arts degree in biology from Skidmore College in 1995 and a doctorate in molecular plant biology from Cornell University in 2001. She is an associate professor in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences at the University of Delaware and directs research in molecular plant-pathogen interactions.  

Meade works as a scientist for the United States Army at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. Born and raised in Kentucky, he earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences and a master’s degree in soil and biochemistry from the University of Kentucky.  

The couple lives in Newark, Del.
