Ridgefield resident Jerry McKinstry has been named the director of strategic communications at Harrison Edwards, a New York City public relations and digital marketing agency.

McKinstry joined the company March 19 after serving as deputy communications director for Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino. He previously wrote as a journalist for The Journal News and Newsday, and served as a contributor to NPR and News 12.

“Jerry not only understands the market and rapidly changing media landscape,” said Carolyn Mandelker, president and CEO of Harrison Edwards. “He also is a big picture thinker, which will serve our clients well and enhance our growth, particularly as we move into new sectors.”
