Mary Lodigiani of Ridgefield, a member of the Boston College Class of 2018, has been awarded a coveted J. William Fulbright grant, a one-year post-baccalaureate teaching award given annually to the nation’s best and brightest college students.

A political science and German double major, Lodigiani graduated on Monday. With the Fulbright award, she will travel to Germany and teach English. A 2014 graduate of Ridgefield High School, Lodigiani is the daughter of David and Doreen Lodigiani of Ridgefield.

“I am incredibly honored to be included in this community of scholars,” said Lodigiani. “The Fulbright opens so many doors, and I am looking forward to an exciting future.”

After her Fulbright year, Lodigiani plans to return to the United States to teach German.
