Library poker tournament raises $7,500 for local charities
The Ridgefield Library recently hosted the first annual Ridgefield Charity Poker Tournament, raising close to $7,500 for local charities.
The Stamford Boys and Girls Club, represented by Andrew Coreau, came away the big winner, receiving $4,288 from the tournament games, with seven other charities sharing winnings from spinning wheel and putting green games.
In total, 75 players represented 35 Fairfield County charities.
“The energy and excitement generated by the tournament made for a memorable night,” said Laureen Bubniak, director of development for the library. “We plan to make it an annual event and will be adding exciting sponsorship opportunities for local businesses and donors in the future.”
