Ridgefield Folk, the Ridgefield Library’s live music series, kicks off its spring season with the Jacob Jolliff Band on Sunday, May 5, at 2 p.m. The band is led by one of the country’s top contemporary bluegrass mandolinists, Jacob Jolliff.
Jolliff has been playing mandolin since he was 7-years-old under the tutelage of his musical father. Throughout middle school and high school Jolliff picked in a bluegrass gospel band with his dad. When Jolliff was 18 he was awarded a full scholarship at the Berklee College of Music in Boston where he then joined the New England-based roots music band, Joy Kills Sorrow, playing in hundreds of clubs, theaters, and festivals worldwide. When Joy Kills Sorrow disbanded in 2014, Jolliff got the call to join Yonder Mountain String Band.
To register for the concert, visit ridgefieldlibrary.org or call 203-438-2282 for more information. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Ridgefield Folk is made possible thanks to the Friends of the Ridgefield Library.
