The Rooted Plow has been invited by the national chain Williams-Sonoma to have a pop-up shop in their location in the Danbury Fair Mall.
Co-owner Diana Arfine said that Williams-Sonoma reached out via Instagram, after seeing the custom Ridgefield products the company creates.
"They liked our aesthetic and thought our products would nicely complement the quality goods carried at Williams-Sonoma,” says Arfine. “We were shocked to be approached by a national chain. Of course we said yes! Williams-Sonoma understands the current trend of buying local and is reaching out to select community businesses and artisans to feature in their store."
The Pop-Up Shop will be held this Saturday, June 2, from 11-3 p.m.
Arfine and her partner Leslie Realander first launched The Rooted Plow, their business devoted to Ridgefield apparel, gifts and home goods, a year ago.
The company relies on its website, therootedplow.com, for sales.
They also host pop-up shops in town.
"We love to do the occasional festival or event in town,” says Realander. “Also, we have partnered with Weichert, Post and Madison on Main Street, and display our products in their window, with a small selection shown inside. This 'outpost’ allows us to offer free local pick-up in town for area residents."
