Helping kids with divorce is topic of library talk March 1
The Parenting the #Selfie-generation series continues on Thursday, March 1 at 7 p.m., at the Ridgefield Library with a program called How to Help Kids Survive and Thrive Through Divorce. Licensed professional counselor Susan Gestal will highlight what parents can do to help minimize the effects of divorce on their children and ensure that they’ll grow up to be happy, well-adjusted adults.
Topics covered will include: How and when to break the news of a pending divorce; The typical effects of divorce on children of all ages over time; How best to manage a two-household arrangement after the divorce; How to care for yourselves so that you can better take care of your children.
Parenting the #Selfie Generation is a community-wide collaboration with Ridgefield Public Schools, Ridgefield Council of PTAs, Ridgefield Library, Ridgefield Youth Commission, Books on the Common, Project Resilience, Town Vibe, and Silver Hill Hospital.
