Girl Scout Troop 50840 handed out free balloons and hot chocolate at the Ridgefield Rec Center as part of its holiday service project on Saturday, Nov. 4. The balloons contained messages hand-written by members of the eighth grade troop.

Troop members met at the beginning of the school year and decided that “spreading kindness during the holiday season” would be their mission.

“It was very rewarding helping to brighten someone’s day with a random act of kindness,” said eighth grader Angelina Cerulli.
