Fred Newman to perform at Chekhov Festival fund-raiser March 31

The Michael Chekhov Theatre Festival will hold its annual fund-raiser performance and reception Saturday, March 31, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the historic Keeler Tavern Garden House, 132 Main Street.

Fred Newman will be the headline entertainer for the event. Newman is a regular performer on NPR’s “A Prairie Home Companion.” He has also been a puppeteer for Jim Henson and is the acclaimed author of “Mouth Sounds.”

Tickets for the event may be purchased for $50 at The non-profit organization, Chekhov International Theatre Festival, was created to honor Michael Chekhov by bringing live, professional theater to Ridgefield.
