Four Hands on the Wheel: Playhouse to host 60s auto racing documentary May 23

“Four Hands on the Wheel,” a long-lost documentary chronicling the legendary auto-racing partnership between Roger Penske and Mark Donohue, will be presented Wednesday, May 23, at the Ridgefield Playhouse as a fundraiser for the New England Auto Museum.

The film features rare footage of both Penske and Donohue racing a wide variety of legendary machines, including the Zerex Special, Corvette Grand Sport and Chaparral.

A panel discussion will follow the showing of the film with the people who were there, including Ridgefield resident Judy Stropus who was an ace team timer and scorer before computers existed.

A silent and live auction of racing memorabilia and never-before-seen photos will be held. The doors open at 6:45 p.m. Tickets for Four Hands on the Wheel are $47. A private pre-film meet-and-greet, beginning at at 6 p.m. is available for $50 additional.
