The Fountain Music Series presents its Fifth Annual WCSU/FCC Student Intern Recital on Sunday May 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 103 Main Street, Ridgefield.  The first part of the program will feature each of the four interns, Amy Cerbie, Nicole Salamon, Anthony DeLuco, and Edwin Rodriguez, with their WCSU accompanist, Andrew Gordon, performing stunning solos, showing their strengths and passions throughout their pieces.  

Following intermission, the interns will be joined by fellow opera students and faculty from WCSU in a performance of Warren Martin’s (1916-1982) operetta, The True Story of Cinderella, accompanied by Edwin R. Taylor, a student of the late composer.  FCC interns Nicole Salamon, Edwin Rodriguez, and Anthony DeLuco will be performing the roles of The Stepmother, Prince, and Chimeur, respectively.  The King and Queen roles will be performed by bass-baritone, Dan Satter, and soprano, Olivia Conforti.  The two step sisters will be played by sopranos, Christine Manalo and Natalie Andrews.  The role of Cinderella will played by soprano, Callie Sorrento.  Matt Sacco, baritone, and Sergio Mandujano, tenor, will perform the roles of two of the three hermits.  Faculty members, Drs. Margaret Astrup, soprano, and Richard Weidlich, baritone, will sing the roles of the Fairy Godmother and the Second Hermit respectively. The King’s Herald will be performed by WCSU’s accompanist and vocal coach, Andrew Gordon.  You do not want to miss this incredible night of music as the true story of Cinderella is finally revealed! Visitors are always welcome at the First Congregational Church, located by the fountain at the intersection of Main Street and West Lane in Ridgefield.  Worship is at 8:30 and 10:00 on Sunday mornings.
