Three Ridgefield songwriters, known collectively as the Flubber Bros., will perform a set of original tunes at Blue Bus Music on Saturday, February 10, at 7 p.m.

Named for the magic invention featured in the classic 1961 Disney film, “The Absent-Minded Professor,” the Flubber Bros. started as an informal songwriting experiment but has quickly evolved into a labor of love for Chris Belden and Kevin McCarthy, who have each released solo albums of their own material, and their good friend, the writer and raconteur Robert Drescher.

“I’ve always avoided co-writing songs,” says Belden, “but working with these guys has opened up creative doors that I didn’t even know were there. Robert has been contributing some awesomely clever and sincere lyrics, and Kevin is just a born songwriter. But something alchemical happens when we all get together. I’m really proud of these songs.”

The show is free and open to the public.

“This will be an informal sort of concert,” Belden says. “We’re going to perform as if we’re in our living room with a group of good friends.”

Blue Bus Music is located at 6 Prospect Street, in the heart of Ridgefield. Call 203-244-5296 for more information.
