Farmingville inventors shine at Connecticut Invention Convention
Three student inventors from Farmingville Elementary school represented Ridgefield and FES at the State level of the Connecticut Invention Convention (CIC), held at the University of Connecticut, Storrs campus over the April 28 weekend.
Sophie Zezula, Addison Avery-Payne, and Lino Marrero are among the less than 1% of Invention Convention students to reach this level.
According to opening ceremony speeches by the CIC and UCONN School of Engineering, approximately 18,000 students participated in the event at the school level across CT.
Between 700 and 800 students won their school contests, proceeded to and won their regional-level events, and were invited to compete at UCONN on Saturday, April 28. Of those 700 to 800 students, only 160 were recognized at the state level.
