Democrats seek candidate for vacant Police Commission seat

The Ridgefield Democratic Town Commission (DTC) is seeking candidates to fill a vacant seat on the Police Commission. Police Commissioner Stephen Saloom resigned from his position effective Jan. 1, 2019, pursuant to a temporary work relocation to the Washington, DC area.

Per the town’s charter, the Police Commission has 30 days to fill the vacancy and must fill the

vacancy with an individual with the same party affiliation as the resigning member.

The DTC intends to endorse a candidate for the commission’s consideration in filling Saloom’s seat.

Interested individuals should send a statement of interest and detailed resume or biography demonstrating their qualifications for the vacant seat to the DTC’s recruiting subcommittee at no later than Friday, Jan. 11.
