Chief Kreitz to be sworn in at Lounsbury House Nov. 14
Ridgefield Police Chief Jeff Kreitz will be sworn at the Lounsbury House Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m.
Kreitz was named the new chief of police on Oct. 26.
“I’m honored to have this opportunity, especially with the caliber of the other officers who also went for the job,” he told The Press Tuesday, Oct. 30.
Kreitz replaces longtime Chief John Roche who passed away in late August.
“I do have big shoes to fill with Chief Roche,” Kreitz said. “He was a big leader and a fantastic man.”
Kreitz, 39, beat out Maj. Steve Brown, who has been serving as the department’s acting chief for the past several months, and Capt. Bryan Terzian.
The ceremony is open to the public. All are welcome. Lounsbury House is located at 316 Main Street.
