Violinist, Angelo Xiang Yu, joins the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra for a special all Mozart program at the Ridgefield Playhouse at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 17. Mr. Yu's astonishing technique, exquisite tone and exceptional musical maturity have generated critical acclaim and enthusiastic ovations from audiences worldwide. In addition to winning First Prize at the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, Yu won awards at the Lipinski Wieniawski and the Michael Hill International Violin Competitions, and was recently chosen to join the roster of Lincoln Center's prestigious Chamber Music Society beginning with the 2018-19 season.
Along with the concerto, the orchestra will perform the Overture from Don Giovanni, a beautiful divertimento and the fabulous Symphony No. 41 “Jupiter” – Mozart’s last, and often considered his greatest, symphony. The orchestra will be lead by renowned conductor, John Cuk, in this extraordinary evening of music.
