Recreation Notes: New pool, functional fitness

Ridgefield Parks & Recreation is excited to announce the new addition to the recreation center’s indoor pool, the Wobble Wipeout. The grand opening is on Sunday, Feb. 18, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Recreation center members get free entry and others may pay a $10 per person drop-in fee.  Are you up for the challenge? Note that only people who can swim can experience the Wobble Wipeout which is a floating bridge. Recreation swim and the tumble buckets will be available for everyone to enjoy.

With our new Functional Fitness and Nutrition Coaching Program, you will receive personal attention in a small group format with Amy Doucet, a certified exercise physiologist and nutrition coach. This program will improve your balance, core stability and muscular strength with functional exercises that incorporate multiple muscles and joints simultaneously.  Functional fitness training is suitable for all levels. Additionally, an optional nutritional system is included in order to help improve your results. With Amy’s guidance, you will be more mindful of your eating habits and stay accountable.
