RIDGEFIELD — Testing for COVID-19 scheduled for Saturday at Scotts Ridge Middle School has been canceled. Town officials said the testing has been canceled due to difficulty getting rapid-turn-around tests. A release on the matter from the town’s office of Emergency Management follows: “First Selectman Rudy Marconi announced yesterday that town-wide testing scheduled for Saturday, July 25th is canceled due to the reallocation of rapid test kits. The Federal Government is diverting all rapid test kits away from the clinics like Ridgefield’s and diverting them to nursing homes across the country. As a consequence test results here, locally, may take in excess of one week. Mr. Marconi is disappointed as quite of few Ridgefielders had signed up for the testing. He urges those who want or need a test to immediately contact their primary care provider or an urgent care facility as there may still be some rapid tests available in their facilities. Docs Medical Group, which provided the previous three drive through testing programs still has some kits available. They are located on 1 Pandanaram Road, Danbury.
