PRESTON — State Police have arrested a 26-year-old local woman who allegedly flashed a handgun she was licensed to own while intoxicated.

Brittany Lillian Stickman was charged with first-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace and carrying a firearm under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

State police officers were called to an address on Route 2a shortly before 4 p.m. Monday “for a report of an active disturbance,” a press release said.

“During the investigation it was alleged that the Accused opened her jacket and displayed a firearm,” the release said.

Police made contact with Stickman “who was highly intoxicated,” and found a Ruger .22 caliber handgun on her, according to the release.

Stickman has a valid pistol permit, according to state police.

She is due to appear in state Superior Court in Norwich on March 4.
