Ryan Meegan memorial game Aug. 10 at RHS
A former Ridgefield High boys soccer player will be recognized when the fourth annual Ryan Meegan Memorial Alumni Game takes place Saturday, Aug. 10, from 5 to 7 at Tiger Hollow.
The game honors the memory of Meegan, a 2014 Ridgefield High graduate who was killed in a car crash close to the University of Connecticut campus in Storrs on Sept. 15, 2015. Meegan, a member of the 2013 state championship boys soccer team at RHS, was in his sophomore year at UConn.
Previous alumni games have included more than 40 Ridgefield High graduates wearing either blue or white shirts (representing the colors of Chelsea, Meegan’s favorite club team) and the number 12, which Meegan wore in high school.
The event is free for players and spectators. Concession stands will not be open, but those attending can bring water bottles.
