Ridgefield Public School district offering multiple employment opportunities

The district has openings that can cover the summer expenses with flexible full time and part time local positions that align with the general school schedule.

One new yearlong position is a student transportation driver, which would be a rewarding job for friendly, responsible local people with five years of driving experience.

The district has purchased two vans to address the rising cost of transportation contractors. The district is seeking morning and afternoon drivers to fill the new role.

While a safe driving record and experience with children are required, the district will train for the position that is also considered to be well paying, a release said.

Ridgefield Public Schools’ Food Service partner Chartwells is looking for cooks, kitchen leaders, and food servers.

Cooks and kitchen leaders are full time positions that require training that the company will provide.

Food servers are part time. All of the positions offer five days of paid time off after 30 days served.

“Some of our best employees are local parents,” Ridgefield Public Schools Director of Personnel Karen Dewing said. “They enjoy working on their kids’ schedules in this fun, dynamic district,” Dewing said.
