SOUTH WINDSOR — A Windsor woman faces charges for her role in stealing hundreds of dollars of alcohol from a local liquor store last summer, according to police.

Aysia D. Ryan, 21, of Highland Avenue in Windsor, was arrested on an active arrest warrant Tuesday, stemming from an Aug. 28, 2020, incident at M&R Liquors at 206 Buckland Road, police said Wednesday.

A woman, later identified as Ryan, and an unidentified man are accused of going into the store and taking about $800 worth of liquor, police said.

When employees confronted them, they fled, hitting one of the employees on the arm with the vehicle being driven by Ryan, according to police.

Police said Ryan’s erratic driving prevented them from stopping the vehicle.

Police said they learned the vehicle had been linked to “several other similar robberies in other neighboring jurisdictions.” Investigators identified Ryan using surveillance footage and information from other agencies investigating similar instances.

“Officers also located Ryan’s Snapchat accounts, which she used to post photos of the stolen merchandise for sale,” police said.

Ryan was charged with third-degree robbery, third-degree reckless endangerment, conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny, operating a motor vehicle under suspension and misuse of marker plates. She was held on a $25,000 bond.

The male suspect has not yet been identified. Police said once the man is identified, detectives will apply for an arrest warrant to charge him for his alleged role in the crime.
