Police: Woman assaulted, robbed at Ridgefield Days Inn
RIDGEFIELD — A woman was assaulted and robbed by two people last week while sitting in her car at the Days Inn on Route 7, police said Tuesday.
The unidentified woman told Redding police she was in the back parking lot around 6:08 p.m. Dec. 12 when a man got into the front seat of her car, and a woman got in the back seat.
The 35-year-old woman, who police say is an employee at the Days Inn motel, “was assaulted by the male who took $100 from her,” police said.
The victim was able to identify the woman in the back seat as a former friend from Torrington. But police did not release her identity “as an arrest warrant is being submitted to Danbury Superior Court,” Police Chief Mark O’Donnell said.
The victim described the man who robbed her as a slender white male who appeared to be in his late 20’s with a short moustache and goatee and dark brown hair. He was wearing a “winter type hat,” police said.
Police said the case remains under investigation.
