WATERBURY — Police have identified the man who died after a motorcycle accident early Wednesday morning.

Waterbury resident Luis Oscar Maldonado Cintron, 41, was driving a motorcycle that was involved in the accident and was later pronounced dead at the hospital, police said Thursday.

Waterbury police headed to the 300 block of Thomaston Avenue Wednesday morning following “a report of an individual on a motorcycle being involved in a collision with another vehicle,” according to a news release from police.

The motorcycle operator — “who had serious visible injuries to the head” — received aid on the scene and was sent to the hospital, the release read. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said in the release.

Officials continue to investigate the incident.
