RIDGEFIELD — Backpacks bulging, students at Farmingville Elementary School returned to class on Monday morning for the first day of school.

Ridgefield Public Schools were among a few local school districts to welcome students back on Monday. Bethel, Newtown and Sherman also had their first day of school. Students in Danbury and Brookfield return on Tuesday.
