Ridgefield’s third annual “Love Your Library” Days – popularly known as “LYL” – will return with a variety of fun activities for families and adults all around town on Friday, Sept. 28, and Saturday, Sept. 29.

“Love Your Library has become a town-wide celebration of the Ridgefield Library’s important role as a centerpiece of the Ridgefield community,” said Brenda McKinley, director of the Ridgefield Library. “The enthusiastic involvement of the town’s businesses and citizens in supporting our LYL events makes these weekends memorable every year!”

The highlight of the weekend promises to be the return of the popular “FORE! Your Library” event that transforms all three floors of the Library into a custom 18-hole mini-golf course.  This year the Library is offering three exciting options for Ridgefield’s mini-golf players:

  • The Challenge Cup Mini-Golf Tournament returns Friday, September 28 at 7 p.m. This is an adult- only event that will feature teams of four golfers who will compete for the 2018 title. Registration is $250 for a foursome, which includes food catered by Odeen’s BBQ and adult beverages. Solo and couples packages are also available and will be assigned to foursomes. Gallery tickets for spectators and fans are $35 per person with wine, beer and food by the bite served in the Hospitality Tent (a transformed Bossidy Commons).
  • Open golf for families takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29.  Library trivia games and other fun family activities take place until 4:00 pm. Tickets are $5 per player and all equipment will be provided.
  • New this year will be two “teen-only” mini-golf events on Saturday evening.  Middle school golfers will be welcomed from 5-7 p.m., followed by an exclusive session for high school students from 8-10 p.m. Food and refreshments will be served at both events.

Tickets to mini-golf events will go on sale in August.  A wide array of sponsorship packages are now available, including the Presenting Sponsor, 19th Hole Sponsor, and sponsorship options for each of the 18 holes on the course. The Library is pleased to announce that joining us again this year as a hole sponsor is Wooster School, and Suni and Woody Harford will sponsor our Teen Mini-Golf events.  Sponsors will again be invited to decorate their holes with their most creative and artistic design ideas. Sponsorship packages are available online at www.ridgefieldlibrary.org or by contacting Laureen Bubniak at 203-438-2282, x11029 or lmbubniak@ridgefieldlibrary.org.

In addition to fun at the Library, you will see Library volunteers handing out free bookmarks and accepting donations for the Library all around town.  The Library hopes the whole community will join them for their “Love Your Library” Days event.
