The village is getting another hair salon.
Edgardo Escribano, a stylist who previously worked in town for 14 years, is planning to open a new salon, Pelo by Edgardo, at 16 Bailey Avenue .
Escribano said his salon will take up the ground-floor storefront to the right of the building’s entrance. He said he plans to hold monthly classes on cutting and styling, and will allow other hairdressers from the area to teach what they know.
“I’m community driven, so I’ve always been someone who likes to share,” he said.
He signed a lease for the space and has already completed renovation work. He plans to open Pelo by Edgardo in the next few weeks.
Escribano plans to open Pelo by himself, with plans to expand to employ four to five stylists, he told The Press.
The building at 16 Bailey Avenue currently contains the Fitguana gym and an art gallery.
The Ridgefield Press left the building in November, after it was purchased by Hearst Connecticut Media earlier in the fall.
