The COVID-19 vaccination program is well underway, with over 60 percent of Ridgefield’s population having received at least one dose. The percentage of residents over 60 who are now fully vaccinated is even higher.

Because of this local progress, we are very excited to announce that Founders Hall has made plans to partially re-open for in-person activities. On Tuesday, June 1, our vaccinated members will be able to use the Billiards Room, Card Room, Living Room/Library and Computer Room on a reservation basis. The Summer Semester will begin on Monday, June 21, with a limited hybrid schedule, meaning some classes will be taught both in-person and on Zoom.

Our primary goal for re-opening is to keep Founders Hall members, instructors and staff healthy while gathering in-person and enjoying each other’s company. To achieve that goal, we have established new policies and procedures that ensure our in-person programs will be successful, such as limiting occupancy, wearing face masks, social distancing and more. Details will be provided in the May Founders Forum and the Summer Semester coursebook.

Founders Hall provides academic, social and fitness programs to people age 60 and older, and Ridgefielders can join at any time. Visit founders-hall.org to learn more.
