Four homes in Ridgefield reported having discolored water between Monday night and early Tuesday morning

Peter Fazekas, Aquarion's director of public relations, confirmed the four incidents Tuesday, July 2, and said that they took place on Main Street and Prospect Street.

Fazekas believes the discolored water was likely caused by an isolated incident.

"Probably a hydrant that opened up," he said. "It settled pretty quickly. We haven't received any calls since early this morning."

Fazekas said three calls came in Monday night and another early Tuesday morning.

"There was no disturbance reported, no water main break," he added.

Fazekas said that anyone experiencing discolored water should call Aquarion's customer service center at 203-445-7310.
