A locally sold $1 million winning Powerball ticket remains unclaimed in Danbury. But area residents have seen their fair share of winnings this month with about $182,000 lottery tickets cashed in, according to CT Lottery.
The most recent winner was a Bethel man, who cashed in a $77,000 winning Mega 7s scratch-off Monday. The ticket was purchased at Westside Deli & Catering in Danbury.
Last Thursday, a Brookfield woman claimed a $30,000 winning 30X Cash 8th Edition scratch-off purchased at Stew Leonard’s in Danbury.
A Southbury woman became $10,000 richer Jan. 19, after cashing in a winning 10X Cash 15th Edition ticket purchased at Southbury’s Main Street Convenience.
That same day, a Danbury woman claimed a $30,000 winning 30X Cash 9th Edition scratch-off purchased at the Spirits ‘n’ Such liquor store on Danbury’s South Street.
On Jan. 6, a Newtown man cashed in a $20,000 Cash Flurry ticket purchased at a WHEELS gas station in town.
A Danbury man also claimed a winning lottery ticket that day. He cashed in a $15,000 winning PLAY4 NIGHT ticket purchased at Danbury’s Stop & Shop on Newtown Road.
The unclaimed $1 million winning Powerball ticket was sold at the Mill Plain Package Store in Danbury.
Since the Jan. 3 drawing of the Powerball numbers — 2-13-32-33-48, PB-22, PP-2 — no one has claimed the prize at Connecticut Lottery’s headquarters in Rocky Hill. Whoever the lucky winner is has until July 2 to do so, according to the CT Lottery.
