NEW MILFORD — The first phase of Aquarion’s waterline replacement will start Thursday on Wellsville Avenue, Mayor Pete Bass wrote in an online roads update.

The contractor, Tinker, will start cutting up the road, and continuing to work between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Delays should be expected.

Bass assured residents that any trenches created by the construction would be filled each day, and on Fridays, would be paved over.

Drainage is expected to installed before October in preparation for new pavement in the spring of 2022, Bass wrote.

The town asked people to take alternate routes during work hours if possible.
