At least one person injured in multi-car accident that shut down Route 7 South

BROOKFIELD — At least one person was injured in a multi-car accident that prompted the closure of Route 7 South for part of Saturday afternoon.

At around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, police and fire crews responded to a multi-vehicle accident on Route 7 South near Exit 11 with reported injuries, police said.

Emergency crews shut down the highway for about an hour as they worked to clear the debris.

At least one individual was transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries from the accident, officials said.

Fire and EMS units from Brookfield and Danbury were on scene.

More information regarding this incident will be released by state police in the near future.
