Ridgefield Continuing Education offers summer courses
One-on-one career and job search workshops are available through Ridgefield Continuing Education. Dates in addition to those listed below may be scheduled.
Resume Assistance, Interview Skills and Techniques, and Job Search Techniques may be scheduled on Fridays, June 21; July 12, 19 or 26, from 1 to 2 p.m., or at other times. Instructor Glenna McNally has more than 30 years’ experience in executive recruiting and human resources consulting and is owner of G. McNally Enterprises in Danbury.
Intro to LinkedIn One-on-One, Using LinkedIn for Your Job Search, and Interview Skills Training may be scheduled on Fridays, June 21; July 19 or 26, from noon to 1 p.m. Instructor Louzette Dovaras has more than 20 years of recruiting experience. Her strengths include corporate, IT and executive recruiting for national and international corporations.
Tai Chi classes help participants develop core strength and flexibility; build bone density and strength; improve posture and sense of balance, and meet fitness goals. Ridgefield Continuing Education offers the following sessions.
Tai Chi Form for Beginners runs Fridays, July 12, 19, 26; Aug. 2 and 9, 10 to 11 a.m.
Tai Chi Exercises with Light Weights, Wednesdays, June 26; July 10, 17, 24, 31; Aug. 7 and 14, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. A Friday morning session meets June 28; July 12, 19, 26; Aug. 2 and 9, 10 to 11 a.m.

Summer Garden Care Clinic
A Summer Garden Care Clinic with expert horticulturist Eileen Burton is available through Ridgefield Continuing Education Tuesday, July 9 and 16, from 10 a.m.-noon, at the Annex, 66 Prospect St.
This clinic provides tips on garden maintenance, harvesting and troubleshooting for pests and a trip to the instructor’s flower and vegetable garden for a live demonstration. Directions to live demonstration (in Ridgefield) will be provided at the first class.

An Italian Summer Conversation class for people who have completed previous sessions or have a comfortable command of the language is available through Ridgefield Continuing Education Wednesdays, July 10, 17, 24, 31 and Aug. 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the town hall annex building.
This course is focused on practical conversation geared toward the individual level and vocabulary build up, plus individual projects open for discussion. There will be some assignments using “Italian Made Simple.” The instructor, Sylvana Serravezza is a native of Venice and teacher of Italian for many years at local universities and in Ridgefield Continuing Education.

Art-Inspired Writing with Kim Kovach runs Thursdays, July 11, 18, 25 and Aug. 1, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the town hall annex, 66 Prospect Street.
Participants will look at paintings from American artists including Edward Hopper, Andrew Wyeth and John Singer Sargent. Each work of art aims to inspire fresh ideas for story writing with a little art history as a bonus.
Instructor Kim Kovach teaches fiction and nonfiction writing for adults in Connecticut and New York. The author of six fiction books, Kovach writes a weekly column for Halston Media and lifestyles articles for Westchester Senior Voice and Westchester Wellness.

Ridgefield Continuing Education offers six-week instructor-facilitated online courses with ed2go featuring business, computer, writing, psychology, languages, health and online test prep including C++, Network+, QuickBooks, GED, GMAT, SAT, GRE, LSAT, and many more certification prep classes.
A new session of each course begins every month. The next sessions start July 17 and Aug. 14. Cost is $99 to $120.

Lentz & Lentz SAT Prep is offering PSAT, SAT, and ACT Prep classes meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, July 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26 and Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Town Hall Annex, 66 Prospect Street.
This course allows participants to study in a leisurely, intelligent way, in order to develop the strategies, test-taking tips and short cuts needed to do well, an announcement said.
Cost is $440 including all course materials.
