A four-session Qi Gong 1 workshop is available through Ridgefield Continuing Education.

Debbie Dong, owner of Meridians Eastern Health Alternatives in Ridgefield, said, “In Chinese medicine, the condition of one’s Qi is the most critical determinant of health status. In this series, participants learn a set of Qi Gong exercises for self-cultivation of one’s Qi.”

Practicing these exercises can yield benefits in maintenance of good health and prevention of disease. The students first learn to sense and enhance the flow of Qi within the body and around the inner organs. Then the student learns to improve his/her Qi balance through meditation. Students from prior classes are welcome back. The class meets at the Venus Building (old high school, use Governor Street entrance) on Fridays, June 2, 9, 16, and 23, from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Cost is $51; seniors pay $38. Advance registration required. Additional classes, including Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Body Precision, and Calorie Burner, are also available.
